Information extraction, text mining, named entities recognition, contextual (esp. with respect to personal and organizational context) indexing of documents, semantic annotations, formal knowledge representation (ontologies modelling and building from texts, named-entities ontologies), information retrieval and filtering (also in mobile environment).
