Witold Abramowicz is head of a Department of Information Systems in Poznan University of Economics. He published all together 26 books in United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Poland. He is and author or coauthor of about 180 reviewed publications distributed in over a dozen counties. Prof. Abramowicz is an organizer of a Business Information Systems (BIS) conference, and was an invited member in about 230 program committees of science conferences. His main areas of interest are information retrieval systems and information management systems.

For the last book of prof. Abramowicz "Filtrowanie Informacji" (ang. Information Filtering), Poznan University of Economics Publishing House was awarded with The Association of Academic Publishers prize for the Best Academic Handbook 2008.
